København - Just a short one hour flight from Oslo and home of Hans Christian Andersen, the author of the Little Mermaid.

Look at this stuff...Isn't it neat...Wouldn't you think my collection's complete... It's my favorite Disney movie. Of course I know the words. |
With this being the lamest tourist attraction ever, it is definitely not the reason we took a quick weekend trip to Denmark. It was on our list of places to visit and what better time than the same weekend that my aunt, uncle & cousins from Boston were there to start their European vacation.
Although it was just a quick dose, it was really so great to see family all the way over here. My uncle is the one taking the picture, my aunt is next to Matt, and the other three so-grown-up-young-adults-I-can-hardly-believe-it are my cousins that I love so much. Love this family!

| one of these is not like the others :) |
Our advice for anyone wanting to visit Copenhagen is to tour the city by bike, definitely make time for a drink in the free town of Christiania, and beware of streakers. For real. We saw one.
 |
| Nyhavn - where Hans Christian Andersen resided for quite some time and an area once packed with sailors, ladies of pleasure, pubs, and alehouses. Now renovated to house cosy restaurants and a place to rest your feet at the quayside. (I got this description from this travel website. Quayside is not in my day to day vocabulary.) |
 |
Upon entering the free town of Christiania, three rules are prominently posted: 1. No Pictures allowed. (because people openly do/sell pot even though it's not technically legal)
2. Don't run. It causes panic. (I liked that one.) 3. Have fun. |

| Upon leaving Christiania... |
With Denmark and Norway both being Scandinavian countries, it was neat to visit a new city and somewhat understand the non-English native language. Danish & Norwegian are similar in written form, but when spoken sound really different. It is also confirmed that all Scandinavians love pølse (sausage).

This is probably the best hot dog ever.
